Pulling up the lower thread

1 Raise the presser foot lever. Loosely hold the upper
thread with your left hand, and then turn the
handwheel towards yourself one full turn.
Otherwise, turn on the sewing machine, and then
raise the presser foot lever.
Loosely hold the upper thread with your left hand,
and then press the (needle up/down) button
twice with your right hand.
* The first time that the button is pressed, the needle is lowered.
The second time that the button is pressed, the upper thread
catches the lower thread and the needle is raised.
2 Lightly pull the upper thread with your left hand to
pull up the lower thread.
