Features of OEKAKI (free-motion embroidering)
O = formal prefix, E = picture, KAKI = to draw
OEKAKI was derived from the Japanese word “to draw”. We wanted to bring you a sewing machine which helps
you create special, unique and personal projects while having fun.
● Since the feed dog is lowered during OEKAKI (free-motion embroidering) mode, the fabric can be freely
moved.
● In OEKAKI (free-motion embroidering) mode, the stitch width can be adjusted by how much the foot controller
is pressed.
* Lightly stepping on the foot controller selects a narrow stitch width; stepping further on the foot controller selects a
wider stitch width. Slightly releasing the foot controller selects a narrower stitch width.
• When the foot controller is connected, the sewing machine cannot be started by pressing the start/stop
button. At the end of sewing, the machine can be stopped by pressing the start/stop button.
• In OEKAKI (free-motion embroidering) mode, the sewing speed cannot be adjusted with the foot controller as
in utility stitching mode. For details on changing the sewing speed, refer to page 47.
• In OEKAKI mode, the reverse sewing button cannot be used.
