When an error code appears
If an incorrect operation was performed, an error code between F1 and F9 appears in the LED display. Try again
with the correct procedure.
LED display Cause Countermeasure
F1
This appears and the sewing machine
stops when the motor is being overloaded,
for example, when the fabric is too thick.
Try again with fabric of a suitable
thickness.
F2
This appears when the sewing machine is
started with the start/stop button or the foot
controller while the presser foot is raised.
Lower the presser foot lever.
F3
This appears when the buttonhole lever is
not lowered to the buttonhole foot even
though a buttonhole stitch is selected.
Lower the buttonhole lever to the
buttonhole foot.
F4
This appears when a stitch other than a
buttonhole stitch is selected and the
buttonhole lever has been lowered and the
buttonhole foot is still attached.
Replace the presser foot to one suitable for
the stitch, and then raise the buttonhole
lever.
F5
This appears and the sewing machine
suddenly stops when the foot controller
connector is plugged into the jack while the
sewing machine is running.
With the sewing machine stopped, plug the
foot controller connector into the jack.
F6
This appears and the sewing machine
suddenly stops when the foot controller
connector is unplugged from the jack while
the sewing machine is running.
With the sewing machine stopped, unplug
the foot controller connector from the jack.
F7
This appears and the sewing machine
suddenly stops when the thread winding
spindle is slid to the right while the sewing
machine is running.
Return the thread winding spindle to the
standby position (left).
F8
This appears and the sewing machine
suddenly stops when the thread winding
spindle is slid to the left while the bobbin is
being wound.
Move the thread winding spindle while the
sewing machine is stopped.
