2.18 Cleaning the tractor
2.18.1 Cleaning
General
• Upholstered parts can be removed from the operator's seat with a minimum amount of tools.
• Clean upholstery sections of the operator's seat with a microfiber cloth moistened with a 1% soap
solution (e.g. rinsing agent). To avoid creating lines, always treat whole sections of the seat cover.
Allow the seat to dry. How successful the cleaning is depends on the nature and age of the soiling.
• Never leave the engine running when hosing down the tractor.
• Never spray water directly onto electrical equipment.
• After cleaning the tractor, lubricate all lubrication points, joints and bearings. We recommend waxing
painted surfaces after cleaning.
• Do not aim high-pressure cleaning jets directly at the radar sensor (minimum distance 1 m, maximum
pressure 65 bar).
• Clean plastic parts such as the mudguards, engine cover and roof with a weak soap solution. This also
produces the best cleaning results!
• After winter operations or similar use, the tractor must be thoroughly cleaned.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use any cleaning agents on the engine cover that contain ethanol, isopropyl alcohol or propane.
Do not use cleaning agents containing a high percentage of alcohol - such as spirit, acetone or
concentrated window cleaner - or scouring agents!
Clean the headlamps
• Clean the plastic lenses of the headlamps with a wet sponge and windscreen cleaning agent or
cleaning cloths.
NOTE:
Only use a windscreen cleaning agent or cleaning cloths that are suitable for plastic lenses. Unsuitable
cleaning agents or cleaning cloths can scratch or damage the plastic lenses on the headlamps.
Clean the wiper blades
NOTE:
Do not clean the wiper blades too frequently. Excessive rubbing/cleaning can damage the graphite coating,
which in turn can lead to noisy wipers.
• Lift the wiper arms away from the windscreen.
• Carefully clean the wiper blades with a damp cloth.
• Fold the wiper arms back before turning the ignition on.
Cleaning the windows
Under no circumstances must the following types of materials be used to clean windows with an anti-
reflection coating:
• Rough paper towels.
• Abrasive sponges or powders.
• Steel wool or materials containing steel fibers.
• Blades.
• Acidic cleaning agents or those with a high alcohol content.
• Fluorine-based cleaning agents.
