Subsequent installation of mobile communication systems
Subsequent installation of mobile communication systems (e.g. radio, telephone) must meet the following
requirements:
• Only equipment that complies with national regulations may be installed.
• The equipment must be installed securely.
• Portable or mobile equipment used within the vehicle is permissible only when connected to an
externally installed aerial.
• The transmitter must be fitted well clear of the vehicle electronics.
• Make sure the aerial is fitted properly with a good earth contact between the aerial and the vehicle
body.
For cabling, installation and the maximum permissible power consumption, follow the instructions provided
by the manufacturer.
