Drive-Motor Sercos
Connections
The Kinetix 6000 Sercos ring includes the Kinetix 6000M integrated drive-
motor (IDM) units and IDM power interface modules (IPIM). Fiber-optic
connections are made from drive-to-drive and drive-to-IPIM module. IDM
network connections continue from the IPIM module to the IDM units.
Because the Kinetix 6000M (IPIM) module has fiber-optic cable connectors
positioned identical to the Kinetix 6000 (2094-BMxx-S) drives, the IPIM
module uses the same fiber-optic cable lengths as the drive modules.

In this example, all the drive modules and the IPIM module are on the same
Sercos ring. The ring begins and ends at the 1756-M16SE Sercos module. IDM
units (not shown for simplicity) connected to the IPIM module, are also part
of this Sercos ring.
