16.3 Procedures for Checking Wear
n When components on the track frames are worn down to the minimum recommended
levels, they must be replaced with new components.
n Regular and accurate measuring is required in order to establish the extent of the wear
and when replacement is necessary.
n The components must be thoroughly cleaned for measuring.
n Measurements must be taken at several points. The degree of wear is determined by
the maximum value, not the average value.
16.3.1 Check Front Wheel for Wear

Check the wear by measuring the distance (A) between the top and bottom of the
front wheel.

Check the wear by measuring the depth (A) of the tooth gap. A depth gauge must be
used to measure this, as illustrated below.
