For safety reasons, the jaws are always equipped with a lug to support the drill string.
1.
Check that the jaws of this type are fitted correctly for example, for drilling upwards or
downwards respectively.
2.
Check for jaw wears regularly and replace worn jaws.
7.24 Replacing Jaws
1.
Open the drill rod support fully.
2.
Loosen the bolts (A).
3.
Move the control plate (B) to one side to release the jaw on the opposite side.
