Press " " of the power switch on the printer.
Power Saving (Sleep Mode)
You can reduce power consumption efficiently by using the sleep mode when the
printer is idle or not in use. Use the sleep mode using the following procedure.
IMPORTANT
• You can select [5], [10], [15], [30], [60], [90], [120], [150], or [180] minutes for [Time to
Enter Sleep Mode]. The default value is [30] minutes. You can also configure the printer
not to enter the sleep mode.
• While " " of the power switch located on the back of the printer is pressed, the power
consumption is 0 W.
• The sleep mode is cleared in the following circumstances:
- Printing is performed
- Calibration is performed
- Cleaning is performed
• If you use the sleep mode, the printer does not perform calibration when it is in the sleep
state even if the [Auto Calibration at Regular Interval] check box in the [Calibration
Settings] dialog box in the Printer Status Window is selected.
If you do not use the sleep mode, the printer automatically performs calibration
periodically by selecting the [Auto Calibration at Regular Interval] check box. If you
perform calibration frequently, this may affect the life of the toner cartridges.
For details on specifying the setting for [Auto Calibration at Regular Interval], see
"Automatically Performing Calibration Periodically," on p. 5-20.
