Checking the level and topping-
up with coolant should always be
done with the engine cold.
Engine hot
Wait fifteen minutes or for the
engine temperature to fall below
100°C, then slowly undo the cap
to allow the pressure to drop, pro-
tecting yourself with a cloth for
example.
Topping up the engine oil
Take out the dipstick before filling.
Check the level after filling.
The maximum mark must never
be exceeded.
Do up the cap before closing the
bonnet.
Quality : See the Maintenance
Guide.
Note : for vehicles with a particle
filter, the cooling fan can operate
as long as ten minutes after the
engine has stopped.
If intervening under the bonnet when the engine is hot, even
when the vehicle is stationary and the ignition switched off, be
aware that the cooling fan could operate at any time.
The coolant level should be be-
tween the MIN. and MAX. marks
on the expansion chamber.
Top up the level. If you have to add
more than 1 litre, have the cooling
system checked by a CITROËN
dealer.
Ensure that the cap is securely on
.
Note : The need to top up frequently
indicates a malfunction which should
be checked out as soon as possible
.
