Method of
Malfunction
Detection
Fin temperature is detected by the thermistor of the radiation fin.
Malfunction
Decision
Conditions
When the temperature of the radiation fin increases above 83°C
Supposed
Causes
Defective main PCB (A1P)
Defective radiation fin thermistor (FINTH)
Troubleshooting
Refer to “Thermistor Resistance / Temperature Characteristics” table 1 on page 427.
YES
Faulty radiation from the power unit
• Blocked air suction port
• Stained radiation fin
• High outdoor temperature
NO
NO
YES
Replace the fin thermistor.
NO
Replace the main PCB (A1P).
Continue operation.
It is supposed that the radiation fin
temperature became high due to
some field factors. In this
connection, check the following
points:
• Stained radiation fin
• Airflow obstructed with dirt or
foreign matters
• Damage to fan impellers
• Too high outdoor temperature
Turn OFF the power supply,
and then make measurement
of resistance of the radiation
fin thermistor.
Disconnect the connector
X111A and then properly
connect it.
YES
(R13036)
The radiation
fin temperature exceeds
83°C.
Is the thermistor
resistance normal?
Does
the malfunction
recur when the power
supply turns ON to start
the compressor?
Caution
Be sure to turn off the power switch before connecting or disconnecting
connectors, or parts may be damaged.
