Cards
For best results, use high-quality cards that meet the following specifications and
recommendations.
Card Size
Use ISO ID-1 (also called CR80) size cards with the following dimensions:
Actual card thickness can vary by up to ten percent from the sizes listed. The card bow must be
less than the thickness of the card.
Card Material
Use cards made from the following materials:
Cards can have a magnetic stripe and signature panel on the back side of the card, and a smart
card chip on the front side.
Card Handling
These guidelines apply to unprinted cards.
 Debris or particles on blank card stock can reduce card quality and damage the system.
 Grease or oils, such as oils from your fingers, also reduce card quality. Keep cards completely
clean. Do not touch the print surface of a card with your fingers or hands. Handle blank card
stock by the edges only, or wear gloves.
 Do not use a rubber band to bind blank cards together.
 If you drop a card on the floor, clean it using a lint-free cloth before using it in the system.
