• PS Data Format
Purpose:
To specify the PostScript 3 Compatible communication protocol for a parallel interface, you can configure the PS
Data Format settings for the wired network. The change becomes effective after the printer is turned off and then
on again.
Values:
•Wi-Fi
Purpose:
To enable the wireless connection. The change becomes effective after the printer is turned off and then on.
Values:
NOTE:
• This item is displayed only when the Ethernet cable is disconnected.
• When you use the USB connection and do not use the wireless connection, you need to set Wi-Fi to Off.
System Settings
Use the
System Settings
menu to specify the various basic settings for the printer.
NOTE:
• The value marked by an asterisk (*) is the factory default setting.
• Power Saver Timer
Purpose:
To specify the time for transition to the power saver mode.
Values:
Select 5min (default) for Low Power Timer if your printer shares an electrical circuit with your room lights and you
notice them flickering. Otherwise, select a high value to keep your printer available for frequent use with the
minimum warm-up time.
The printer automatically returns to the standby mode from the power saver mode when it receives data from the
computer. In Low Power Timer, you can also change the status of the printer to the standby mode by pressing any
button on the operator panel. In Sleep Timer, you can change the status of the printer to the standby mode by
pressing the (Power Saver) button on the operator panel.
Auto* Sets the PostScript 3 Compatible communications protocol automatically.
Standard Sets the PostScript 3 Compatible communications protocol to Standard.
BCP Sets the PostScript 3 Compatible communications protocol to BCP.
TBCP Sets the PostScript 3 Compatible communications protocol to TBCP.
On* Enables the wireless connection.
Off Disables the wireless connection.
Low Power
Timer
5min* Specifies the time taken by the printer to enter the low power mode after it finishes
a job.
5 – 30min
Sleep Timer 6min* Specifies the time taken by the printer to enter the sleep mode after it has entered
the low power mode.
