Open cable holder
in front of the right radiator and detach the wiring harness.

Remove screw
. Remove screw
, take off the upper triple clamp with the
handlebar and set it aside.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not bend the cables and lines.

Remove O-ring
. Remove protective ring

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.
12.10 Installing the lower triple clamp

Main work
– Clean the bearing and sealing elements, check for damage, and grease.
High viscosity grease ( p. 114)
– Position the lower triple clamp with the steering stem. Mount the upper steering
head bearing.

Check whether the upper steering head seal
is correctly positioned.

Mount protective ring
and O-ring

– Position the upper triple clamp with the handlebar.

Mount screw
but do not tighten yet.
– Position the clutch line next to the voltage regulator.
