1-6 Requirements on PWB Repl acement
1-6-1 Upgrading the firmware
Follow the procedure below to upgrade the firmware of main PWB, engine PWB and MMI.
Procedure
1. Check the ROM version
Perform maintenance item U000 (maintenance report output) and check U019 ROM version.
2. Insert USB memory
Turn the main power switch off. And then unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
Insert the USB memory in which the firmware has been written into a notch hole of the machine. (see the Figure
1-6-1).
Caution:
For batch upgrading, use USB memory that has a capacity of 256 MB or more.
Write the firmware files into the same directory as USB memory.
3. Perform the upgrade
Insert the power plug and turn the main power switch on. Upgrading firmware starts.
[100% Completed] is displayed when upgrading is complete.
Caution:
Never turn the main power switch off during upgrading.
4. Remove USB memory
Turn the main power switch off. And then unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
Wait for several seconds and then remove the USB memory from the machine.
5. Check the ROM version
Insert the power plug and turn the main power switch on.
Perform maintenance item U000 (maintenance report output) and check that U019 ROM version has been
upgraded.
