Figure 050-32: Opening the Salt Container
Note:
When opening the salt container, water will run out. Open the container only
to refill salt.
3. Before adding salt for the first time, fill the salt container with 2 quarts
(2 liters) of water.
Important:
The salt container must be filled with 2 quarts (2 liters) of water before
adding salt for the first time. Water does not have to be added with
subsequent refills.
4. Open the funnel. See Figure 050-33.

5. Carefully fill with salt until water runs out. See Figure 050-34. The salt
container holds approximately 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) of salt.
6. Clean any excess salt from the threads of the container opening.
7. If the dishwasher will not be used immediately, run the Short program.
This will remove any traces of salt.
