10 G 2000 Dishwashers in Vacation Homes: F14, F69, or All
LEDs Blink
When G 2000 dishwashers are left idle for several months (as in a summer or
vacation home), there is a possibility that the residual water in the sump may
evaporate; this may lead to the circulation pump being temporarily ‘stuck’.
Before setting up service, the factory recommends this procedure to loosen
up the pump:
1. Remove the triple filter from the sump.
2. Add one teaspoon of rinse aid to one quart of very hot water (about
140°F).
3. Pour this into the sump and let it rest about 5 minutes.
4. Start the dishwasher once again.
Remember that this procedure is different from the G 800 series, where a
‘hook tool’ could be used to free up a stuck pump. The tool does not work on
G 2000 dishwashers.
11 Circulation Pumps; MPEW Speed Sensors
How to repair the speed sensor connector:
In certain cases, a circulation pump may need to be replaced because of a
defective speed sensor (F63). This applies to MPEW pumps only. You may
also find that, along with the circulation pump, the harness connector to the
speed sensor may have to be replaced due to overheating or water damage.
This can be accomplished by carefully following these guidelines.
Parts & tools required:
06468760 connector, 3-pole
Small, sharp razor knife
Wire cutters
Slip-joint pliers
Brains (please do not leave them at home)
Procedure:
The speed sensor is an active electronic circuit that is connected to the main
electronic with three wires: plus, minus and signal. There are no color codes
or markings on these wires, so the new connector must be attached to the
harness with the wires in the same position as the old connector. You may
also find that the speed sensor configuration is slightly different on the new
circulation pump; there may be a ‘pigtail’ with the connector on it rather than a
direct connection to the circuit board. In either case, the new connector will fit.
12 G 2xx2 Fault Code F79
You may encounter a G 2xx2 dishwasher displaying the fault code F79. This
only applies to dishwashers that have the three-phase circulation pump
