5. Measure rotor tip clearance with a feeler gauge.
Rotor Tip Clearance:
Std: .005 (.127 mm)
Wear Limit: .008 (.2032 mm)
OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY
1. Clean and dry all parts thoroughly. Apply clean
engine oil to all parts. Do not use gasket sealer on
the pump cover mating surfaces or clearances
will be incorrect, and oil passages may become
plugged.
2. Install outer feed rotor and inner feed rotor drive
pin.
3. Install inner feed rotor and feed chamber cover
with screw.
4. Tighten screw securely.
5. Install oil pump on crankcase and torque bolts to 6
ft. lbs. (8 Nm).
Oil Pump Attaching Bolt Torque:
6 ft. lbs. (8 Nm)
CRANKCASE SEPARATION
1. Remove flange bolts (11) from magneto side
crankcase evenly in a criss-cross pattern.
2. Separate crankcase by tapping with a soft faced
hammer in reinforced areas.
3. Watch the gap along the crankcase mating
surface and separate the crankcase evenly.
4. Remove the Mag (RH) crankcase from the PTO
case.
CRANKSHAFT
REMOVAL/INSPECTION
1. Support the MAG side crankcase and crankshaft;
press the crankshaft out. Be careful not to
damage the crankcase mating surface or
connecting rod.
