With TD7onTIM-compliant TIM modules, the message buffer contains the buffer area for
data messages, divided up according to destination subscribers (destination subscriber
buffer)
The
Message buffer
diagnostic function analyzes the buffer areas of the destination
subscribers in which the DNP3 events are stored.
The
Total
output box provides the following information:
Size (blocks)
:
Total size of the message buffer. The value indicates the total number of storable DNP3
events. This is calculated from the total size of the message memory set for the TIM and
the byte size of a memory block. The parameter assignment is made in the network
configuration in
NetPro
in the
Properties
dialog,
Options
tab,
Global message memory
field.
Free (blocks)
:
Free area of the message buffer. The value indicates the number of free memory blocks.
Free (%)
:
Free area of the message buffer as a percentage
Image blocks
:
Number of events stored in the message memory of the TIM.
The
Buffers
box shows the currently stored events for the various communication partners
with the following information:
from

DNP3 subscriber number of the TIM module
to
:
Subscriber number of the DNP3 master station
no. of messages
:
Number of stored events for the relevant TIM module and DNP3 master station
If a message buffer is selected on the left with the mouse in the
Buffers
field, the following
detailed information is displayed in the
Buffer info
list:

:
DNP3 subscriber number of the TIM module
to
:
Subscriber number of the DNP3 master station
Type:
= 2: Buffer for organizational messages and handshake messages
no. of messages
:
Total number of stored events for the TIM module named above and DNP3 master
station
no. of uncond. messages
:
Number of stored messages to be sent unconditionally and spontaneously (not relevant
for DNP3).
