• If you rotate the LCD panel 180 degrees to tlle lens
side, you cml close the LCD panel with the LCD
screen facing out.
• If you are using the ballery pack for power source,
you can adjust the bdghmess by selecting ]LCD BL
LEVEL] from the [LCD/VF SET l on the i_
(STANDARD SET) menu {p. 84).
• When you use your camcorder in bright conditions,
press LCD BACKL[GHT to switch offthe LCD
screen backlight (_E'_ appears on the screen .). This
setting saves bal_ery power.
• Even if you adjust the LCD screen backligbt, the
recorded picture will not be affected.
• You can turn offlhe operalion confil_nation beep by
setting [BEEP ! in the _ (STANDARD SET)
menu to ]OFF l (p. 87).
You can view images using the viewfinder
when you close the LCD panel. Use the
viewfinder when the battery is running out, or
when the screen is hard to see.
Tousetheviewfinderduringoperation
When you are recording on a tape or a"Memory
Stick Duo," you con adjust lhe exposure (p. 37)
and fader (p. 42) while checking the image on
lhe viewfinder. Have the LCD panel rotaled 180
degrees and closed with lhe screen facing out.
1 Set the power mode to CAMERA=TAPE
or CAMERA=MEMORY (p. 19).
2 Extend the viewfinder, and close the
LCD panel with the screen facing out.

The LCD screen is turned off.
5 Touch the LCD screen while checking
the display in the viewfinder.
