FUEL LEVEL METER
INSPECTION
• Remove the fuel tank.
• Disconnect the fuel level gauge coupler.
Check that the fuel level meter indicates properly when the jumper
wire A is connected between the fuel level gauge coupler termi-
nals coming from the main wiring harness. With the ignition switch
turnd ON, the fuel level meter should indicate “F”.
NOTE:
* Prior to this inspection, check that the fuel gauge is functioning
properly.
* When reading the meter indication, wait at least for 20 seconds
after the float position has been changed.
Resistance Float position
90 – 93 Ω Empty (E)
8 – 10 Ω Full (F)
Connect a new fuel level gauge or correct fuel level gauge as
shown in the following illustration. Fuel meter is normal if its pointer
indicates the E (empty) position when the float is at the “E” posi-
tion and if its pointer indicates the F (full) position when the float
position is changed to the “F” position. If either one or both indica-
tions are abnormal, replace the fuel meter with a new one.
