Receive Data via Wi-Fi Direct

WhenanattempttotransferdataviaWi-FiDirectisreceived,youcanseeanotificationinthestatus

bar.OpentheWi-FiDirectsharenotification,andtouchAccepttostartreceivingthedata.

Receivedfilesarestoredautomaticallyinadedicatedfolder(WiFiShare,forinstance).Youcan

accessthemwiththeFileManagerapp.

Mobile Hotspot

MobileHotspotallowsyoutoturnyourphoneintoaWi-Fihotspot.Whenthisfeatureisturnedon,

youcanshareyourphone'smobiledataservicesviaWi-FiwithotherWi-Fienableddevices.The

featureworksbestwhenusedinconjuctionwiththe4Gdataservices(although3Gservicecanalso

beused).

Important:UseoftheMobileHotspotfeaturemayrequireanadditionalsubscription.Visit

boostmobile.comoraccessyouraccountviaBoostZone(touch >Boost Zone)tolearnmore.

Note:TurningonMobileHotspotwilldisableyourphone'sconnectiontootherWi-Finetworks.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

Youcansetupthemobilehotspotbeforeusingthisfeaturetoshareyourphone'smobiledata

servicesviaWi-Fi.

Fromthehomescreen,touch >Settings >Mobile Hotspot.

3. Setyournameandsecurityoptionsasfollows:

l Network SSID:EnteroreditanetworkSSID(name)thatotherdevicesseewhen

scanningforWi-Finetworks.

l Broadcast SSID:BroadcastorhideyournetworkSSID.Ifthebroadcastisdisabled,other

usersneedtogetyournetworkSSIDtofindtheWi-Fihotspot.

l Channel:ToavoidinterferencewithotherWi-Finetworks,tryusingadifferentchannel.

l Security:Chooseasecurityoption:None(notrecommended)orWPA2 PSK (otherusers

canaccessyourmobilehotspotonlyiftheyenterthecorrectpassword).Whenyouselect

WPA2PSK,touchthePasswordfieldtoeditthesecuritypassword.

4. TouchSavetosaveyoursettings.

Note: Youcantouch >Manage UsersorAdvancedtomanagetheusersconnectedtoyour

phone,setthemaximumconnections,andconfigureadvancedoptions.
