8.4 Laser ranging
What can be done?
When the optional laser range finder is installed on the projector, you can use the laser source to measure the
distance between the front of the projector and the surface you are projecting on.
This can help you fine-tune the position of the projector.
Take into account that while a laser ranging session is active, the projected image will be off. This to
have no interference between laser pointer and projected image.
Instead, a red border will be projected giving the outline of where the projected image should be.
How to manipulate the laser range finder?
1. In the main menu, select Installation Laser ranging.

2. For a single laser ranging calculation, press Single Laser ranging. This will continue the laser for 30 seconds.
3. If you want a continued laser ranging (e.g. when fine-tuning the position of the projector), press Start
Continuous Laser Ranging.
4. If you cannot see the display of the laser range finder while performing a laser ranging session, select Show
measurement on screen. This way, the measurement will be projected alongside the laser dot and the red
border.
