4.4 Install the system
Requir
ements to secure the system in place to prevent unwanted movement (for
example, during an earthquake):
▪ A minimum of 2 seismic brackets are necessary to secure the pump.
▪ The seismic brackets (Figure: Front view of the system) are designed to withstand a
level 4 earthquake in a ground oor installaon (available as an accessory). Refer
to Accessories on page 93.
▪ There are seismic mounng points along the sides of the pump. If you have to
consider space constraints, there are alternave seismic mounng points on the
front and rear bulkhead.
▪ The system can be aached to the oor with applicable bolts or studs (not
supplied) through the 17.5 mm diameter hole in the seismic brackets.
▪ If vibraon transmission to the oor is a possible problem, aach vibraon
isolators (not supplied) between the seismic brackets and the bolt or stud.
▪ Make sure that the bolt spacing is sucient for the oor strength and expected
loads.
▪ The system has mounng points to aach four seismic brackets as shown in view A
of Figure: Reduce the eecve system footprint. On smaller systems, two brackets
can hold the system during an earthquake. The smaller systems can be aached as
shown in view B of Figure: Reduce the eecve system footprint, to decrease the
eecve system footprint. if necessary, view C of Figure: Reduce the eecve
system footprint and Figure: Reduce the eecve system footprint iXM3000 also
shows an alternave way of reducing the system’s footprint, where the seismic
brackets are securing the system from the front and back. Refer to Accessories on
page 93 to select the correct seismic bracket kit for the system and for informaon
about the systems which can be held with only two brackets.
