6.6 Installing the Base Frame and Operating Mechanisms
• Check the base frame serial number, which is located on a sticker
on the base frame itself.
• Check to make sure the serial number agrees with the breaker
serial number.
• Remove the three cover plates (6) from the base frame.
• Attach the lifting tackle to the transport brackets (7) of the base
frame (1), and position it above the supports (2).
• Set the base frame down on the supports, using the bolts (3) as a
centering aid.
• Lubricate the bolts (3) as per L1.
• Preinstall the bolts (3), washers (4) and nuts (5) and tighten until
finger-tight.
• Adjust the anchor bolt nuts (see “Preinstalling the Supports”
on Page 30) until the upper ends of the supports are in direct
contact with the underside of the base frame.
• Tighten the bolted joints connecting the supports to the base
frame to a final torque of 286 Nm.
• Using a level, align the top of the base frame horizontally in both
directions. Adjust the anchor bolt nuts to correct any
misalignment. Always make adjustments via both supports in
order to prevent deformation of the base frame.
• Tighten the anchor bolt nuts to a final torque of 250 Nm.
