Introduction
Recommended Maintenance
Regular maintenance, irrespective of usage, is essential to ensure that
the equipment will always be functional when required. See the MAC
800 Resting ECG Analysis System Operator’s Manual for cleaning
procedures. GE recommends that electrical safety checks be performed
annually.
WARNING
MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES — Failure on the
part of all responsible individuals, hospitals or
institutions employing the use of this device to implement
the recommended maintenance schedule may cause
equipment failure and possible health hazards. The
manufacturer does not, in any manner, assume the
responsibility for performing the recommended
maintenance schedule, unless an Equipment
Maintenance Agreement exists.
The sole responsibility for performing the recommended
maintenance schedule rests with the individuals,
hospitals, or institutions utilizing the device.

The following list identifies the tools required to perform the procedures
described in this chapter.
ECG simulator
Phillips #1 screwdriver
Hexagonal screw drivers
Current leakage tester
Anti-static wrist strap

NOTE
Always use an anti-static wrist strap while opening the MAC 800
unit to avoid possible damage due to static electricity.
