INCORRECT
CAUSES BOAT TO ‘‘PLOW’’
Install the outboard motor at the best
transom angle for stable cruising and
maximum power.
Transom angle too large: Incorrect
causes boat to squat.
The transom angle differs according
to the combination of the boat,
outboard motor, and propeller, and
the operating conditions.
Transom angle too small: Incorrect
causes boat to plow (Sprayed water
may enter the boat).
Adjust the outboard motor so that it
is perpendicular to the water surface
(i.e. axis of the propeller is parallel
with the water surface).
