4.9 6815 Installation
The 6815 SLC expander lets you add additional addressable devices. The maximum number of IDP or SK SLC
devices per panel is 2100. The number of 6815’s is limited by the maximum number of SBUS devices.
Note: An external 6815 will support IDP, SK or SWIFT SLC devices.
To install the 6815:
1. Make sure power is off at the panel.
2. Mount the 6815 in the IFP-2100/ECS cabinet, the RPS-1000 cabinet, or the 5815RMK remote mounting kit.
Use the standoffs located under the control panel board assembly and secure with screws provided with the
6815. For additional information see Model RPS-1000 Installation Instructions (P/N 151153) or 5815RMK
Remote Mounting Kit Installation Instructions (P/N 151391).
3. Connect the 6815 to the control panel. (See Section 4.9.1.)
4. Use on-board DIP switches to select an SBUS ID#. (See Section 4.13.1.)
5. Add the 6815 module to the system through programming. JumpStart will add the module automatically (see
Section 8.1). You can also add it manually (see Section 9.2.2). Select a name, if desired (see Section 9.2.1.2).
You are now ready to connect SLC devices to the 6815 (see
Section 7.7 ).
