Canada Versions)
Some repeaters offer a service called Autopatch. This
feature allows you to dial a telephone number from your
transceiver and carry
on
a telephone conversation. This
repeater function cannot be used for commercial
transactions, but it can save lives when used
appropriately during emergencies.
Autopatch requires the use of a DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-
Frequency) keypad. The keypad includes the 12 keys
found on your telephone plus
an
additional 4 keys
(A,
B,
C,
D). These additional keys are required for various
control operations by some repeater systems.
•
Activating
the
Keypad
1 Press and hold [PTT].
2 Press keys in sequence to transmit tones.
• To generate single-frequency tones for test
purposes, press
[MONI]
before pressing a single
key from
[1] to [8].
