7.1Checks before putting into operation

Make sure that the motorcycle is in perfect technical condition before use.
In the interests of riding safety, make a habit of making a general check before you ride.
– Check the engine oil level. ( p. 154)
– Check the engine for loss of oil.
– Check the fuel level.
– Check the chain tension. ( p. 81)
– Clean the chain. ( p. 80)
– Check the tire condition. ( p. 107)
– Check the tire air pressure. ( p. 108)
– Check the front brake fluid level. ( p. 90)
– Check the rear brake fluid level. ( p. 94)
– Check the front brake linings. ( p. 93)
– Check the rear brake linings. ( p. 97)
– Check that the brake system is functioning properly.
– Check the coolant level in the compensating tank. ( p. 142)
– Check that all controls are correctly adjusted and free to move.
– Check that the electrical equipment is functioning properly.
– Check that baggage is correctly secured.
– Sit on the motorcycle and check the rear mirror setting.
