Fan Motor
The connector is the black wire and the other is red,
located behind the fan assembly.
Black

•NOTE : The igniti on switch must be in the ON
po s ition.
VOLTAGE (Main Harness
Connector to Fan Motor)
l . Set the meter selector to the DC Vol t age position.
2. C01mect tbe red tester l ead to t bc orauge \Vire; then
con n ect the black tester l ead to ground.
3. The-meter must show battery voltage .
•NOTE: If the meter shows no battery voltage,
troubleshoot the battery, fuse, motor , or the main
wir ing harness.
•NOTE: If the meter shows battery voltage, the
main wi ring harness is good. The connector
s hould be checked for r es istance.
RESISTANCE
(Fan Motor Connector)
.&, CAUTION
Always disconnect the battery when performing
resistance tests
to avoid damaging the multi meter.
I. Sot the meter selcctor to the OHMS position.
2.
Co nne ct the red tostor load to the blue wire; then
connect the black tester l ead to the black wire.
3.
Th e meter must show less than 1 ohm .

•NOTE : If the meter shows more than 1 ohm of
resistance, troubleshoot or replace the
switch/co mponent , the connecto r, or the switc h
wi ring harnes s.
•NOTE : To determine if the fan motor is good ,
connect
the blue wire from the fan connecto r to
the positive side of a 12 volt DC power supply ;
then connect th e black wire from the fan co nn ecto r
to the negative side. The fan shou ld operate.
&. CAUTION
Care should be taken to keep clear of the fan blades.
Fuse Block/Povver
Distribution Module
The fuses arc loc..1ted in a power distribution module
(PDM) in front of the steering tube.
Jf there is any type of electrical sy stem failure, always
check the fi.1ses fi.rst.
•N OTE: The ig niti on sw itch must be in the LIGHTS
posit ion .
1. Remove aU fuses from the distribution module.
2.
Set the meter sele ctor to the DC Voltage position.
3. Connect the black tester l ead to ground.
4.
Using the red tester l ead . contact each end of the
fuse holder connector tcm1 i nals individually .

side oftbc- co •mcetorte1mi. nal ends.
•NOTE : B attery vo lt age w ill be indicated from only
one s id e of the · fuse holder connector term inal; the
ot he r s id e w ill show no voltage.
