Motion
Detection
Enable
motion
detection
to
reduce the effects
of
camera shake and subject
movement
when
shooting still pictures.
When
motion
detection
is
enabled, the current setting
is
displayed in the
monitor
during shooting
(~

Auto (default setting)
When camera detects
the
movement
of
the
subject or camera shake,
the
shutter
speed will be increased for reducing
the
effects
of
them.
However,
motion
detection
does
not
function
in
the
following
situations.
• When
the
flash fires
• When any setting
other
than Auto
is
selected for ISO sensitivity

mode
• When
shooting
in
Night
portrait

37),
Fireworks show
(~40),
or
Backlight

mode

Motion
detection

Notes on
Motion
Detection
• Motion detection may
be
unable to completely reduce the camera
shake
and
subject movement
in
some situations,
• Motiorl detection may not function if the subject exhibits significant movement
or
is
too
dark.

The
pictures taken may become somewhat grainy.

Assist
Enable or disable AF-assist illumination.
Auto (default setting)
AF-assist
illumination
will be used
to
assist
the
focus operation
when
the
subject
is
poorly
lit. The
illuminator
has a range
of
about
3.0
m

wide-angle
position and
about
1.5

the
maximum
telephoto
position.
Note
that
for some scene modes, AF-assist
illumination
turns

automatically
