Precautions
For Security When Using Fingerprint Authentication
Fingerprint authentication does not guarantee complete user authentication and identification. Please note that we cannot accept liability for any
lossor damage incurred from your use or inability to use fingerprint authentication. Please be forewarned.
We cannot accept liabilityfor any lossof data due to malfunction of the fingerprint sensor.
Registration may be impossible if there is insufficient fingerprint or other information to identify an individual.
Interoperation with third-party software cannot be guaranteed.
Fingerprint authentication can be performed using either fingerprint or password data. If you lose this data you may be unable to use this device,
so store the data in a safe place.
Fingerprint Sensor Handling
Avoid the following. Failure to do so may result in malfunction or damage to the fingerprint sensor.
Do not rub or scratch the sensor with hard materials or poke it with smallpointed objectsthat could cause scratches.
Do not touch the surface with dirty fingers.
Do not soil or cover the sensor with a sticker.
In the following cases, fingerprint sensor sensitivity may be degraded, impeding or preventing authentication and registration.
If the surface of the fingerprint sensor issoiled with dirt, skin oil, or sweat
If the surface of the fingerprint sensor iswet by moisture or condensation
If your finger istoo wet or too dry
If your finger iswounded or inflamed
If your fingerprint grooves have become too shallow due to wear
If sliding too quickly or too slowly
If your finger isswollen, such as from bathing
If your fingerprint has changed due to weight lossor gain
Fingerprint sensor sensitivity may be restored by the following.
Wipe the fingerprint sensor with a soft cloth.
Wash and wipe your hands.
Use another finger for registration and authentication.
If your finger isextremelydry, moisten it using hand cream.
Static electricity can cause the fingerprint sensor to malfunction. To discharge static electricity, touch a metal surface before touching
the fingerprint sensor. Be especially careful about static electricity in the winter and in other dry conditions.
When a faulty fingerprint sensor is repaired, previously saved passwords may be reset in the process. Please be forewarned.
Setting a Password
If you forget your sign in password you will be unable to use the device or Windows, so be absolutelycertain that you will not forget it.
If you are using Windows Hello:
When you have installed the Fingerprint Authentication Utility (DDS EVE FA Standalone for Panasonic), Windows Hello will become deactivated.
Fingerprint Authentication Function
Use fingerprint authentication to improve securityand convenience by replacing the conventional password entry required to sign in to windows or
provide authentication on websites.
