5.1 The Instrument Basket
The instrument basket is designed to hold instruments for cleaning. Before starting a wash
cycle, instruments for cleaning are loaded into the basket, using luer hose connections as
required. The basket is then docked in the tank and a wash cycle program selected.
5.1.1 The Unity Instrument Basket
The Unity instrument basket can only be used with the Unity model of the Unity sonic
irrigator. The basket has 2 basket manifolds, each with 4 flush ports, making a total of 8
flush ports for connection to cannulated and robotic instruments.
5.1.2 The Unity 20 Instrument Basket
The Unity 20 instrument basket can only be used with the Unity 20 model of the Unity sonic
irrigator. The basket has 2 basket manifolds, each with 4 flush ports and 1 spray nozzle. A
total of 8 flush ports are available for connection to cannulated and robotic instruments. The
2 spray nozzles create an intensive deluge wash and provide maximum penetration on solid
(non-cannulated) instruments.
