Pressure test
N Set the pump to pressure mode.
N Generate gauge pressure of 0.5 bar in the fuel tank.
Pressure must remain constant for at least 20 seconds. If
it drops, the leak must be found:
N Inspect fuel tank for damage, replace fuel tank if
necessary, @ 6.8.
N Check the tank vent, replace if necessary, @ 6.3
After the test
N Fit the hoses (1, 2).
N Install filter and filter housing, @ 10.2.
N Install the shroud, @ 4.5.
6.3 Removing the Tank Vent
N Remove filter and filter housing, @ 10.2.
N Clean the tank vent (6) and the area around it.
N Remove the hose (5).
N Use screwdriver to pry out the tank vent (6).
N Inspect the tank vent (6) and O-ring (7), replace if
necessary.
6.4 Installing the Tank Vent
N Coat O-ring (7) and bead of new tank vent (6) with OH
723 press fluid.
N Press the tank vent (6) home as far as stop.
N Push the hose (5) onto the tank vent (6).
N Test fuel tank (12) for leaks – @ 6.2.
N Install filter and filter housing, @ 10.2.
6.5 Cleaning the Fuel Tank
N Open the tank cap (8).
N Drain the fuel tank (12).
N Fill fuel tank (12) with clean gasoline.
N Close the tank cap (8) and shake the fuel tank (12).
N Open the fuel tank cap (8) again and drain the fuel
tank (12).
6.6 Removing the Pickup Body
N Open the tank cap (8).
N Use hook 5910 893 8800 to remove the pickup
body (14) from the fuel tank (12).
N Pull the pickup body (14) off the hose (4).
6.7 Installing the Pickup Body
N Use hook 5910 893 8800 to pull the hose (4) out of
the fuel tank.
N Push stub of new pickup body (14) into the hose (4).
N Push the pickup body (14) into the fuel tank (12).
N Close the tank cap (8).
