To maintain the performance and service life of the engine,
always use clean and high-quality fuel.
•To
avoidfreezingincoldclimates,useadieselfuelthatstill
functions when the temperature is at least 12°C (53.6°F) below
the lowest expected ambient temperature.
•Useadieselfuelthathasacetanenumberof45orhigher.
When operating at a very low temperature or at a high altitude,
a higher cetane number fuel will be required.
•Usefuelwithsulfurcontentoflessthan0.05to0.0015%by
volume.
<TB285> Especially in the U.S.A. and Canada, ultra-low sulfur
fuel should be used.
A higher sulfur content fuel may cause sulfuric acid corrosion
in the cylinders of the engines.
•Nevermixkerosene,usedengineoil,orresidualfuelswiththe
diesel fuel.
•Poorqualityfuelcanreduceengineperformanceand/or
cause engine damage.
•Fueladditivesarenotrecommended.Somefueladditivesmay
cause poor engine performance.
