The fraction of oxygen concentration, measured at the patients mouth, does not change immediately
when changing the O
2
concentration on the ventilator. The response time depends on the delivered
volume, the set base flow, the used the circuits and the change in fraction of oxygen. When using the
Altera circuits and the below listed ventilator settings, the new O
2
levels are reached after 45 sec
respectively 75 sec.
