12.1.4 Preparing for the Updating Process
1. Install Java
In order to execute updating of the software, Java runtime “Java(TM) SE Runtime
Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03)” or one of higher version will be required.
This application can be downloaded via the following URL.

2. Set DHCP to "Use".
Open the Web MMI upon the PC, and select Settings -> Network settings -> LAN -> IP
Address, and set the DHCP for the DHCP server to “Use”.
This setting is made to have the IP address automatically allocated.
3. Connection for the Updating
When updating the software for Comm Unit (HUB, MODEM)
As for the IP address for establishing LAN connection, you will need an IP address for
maintenance purposes which will be used for the updating process additionally to the
normal IP address. To have two IP addresses;
Connection type-1)
Have two physical LAN ports prepared by using an USB-LAN converter, etc. This
is the connection shown in “Fig. 12.1.2 Standard connection type-1”.
