AP1.2.3 Handling Input Data
1. Handling Receiving Errors
When a receiving error is occurred, the sentence for that error case will be invalid.
The conditions for making the sentences invalid are;
x When the check sum is abnormal
x When a receiving error is occurred within the sentence
x When the sentence has 83 characters or more within the range of $ - <CR> <LF>.
2. Handling the Check Sum Field
When a check sum is added, execute sum check, and if it turns out to be an error, the
subject sentence is to be invalid. If there is not check sum at all, the sentence will be
valid.
3. Time Out Processing
When a valid position data is not received for 30 minutes, it will be handled as time out.
Other data will be time out in 60 seconds.
4. Talker Priorities
x Position/absolute vessel speed/others
GN > GP > GL > LC > DE > LA > TR > RA > WI > II > others
x Time
ZA > GN > GP > GL > ZC > ZQ > ZV > others
Note)
The data used in the equipment are the position data and the time data only.
5. Formatter Priorities
Transition between the formatters from those of higher priority to those of lower priority
will be executed only when the data is handled as time out. Transition from the
fomatters of lower priority to those of higher priority will be executed immediately.
Data contents Priority
Current date/time ZDA > RMC
SOG VTG > RMC
Latitude/longitude GNS > GGA > RMC > GLL
6. Others
x When the data fields are not sufficient
x Bit rate setting
Select the setting between 4800 bps and 38400 bps for the port where data is being
input from Settings -> Basic settings -> GPS in the Web MMI.
x Priority for the source
The priority for the input port is; embedded GPS > external GPS.
The priority is also defined as; port > formatter > talker.
