CHAPTER 4: SETPOINTS TESTING
845 TRANSFORMER PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL 4–359
Ethernet Loopback Test
This section specifies the Ethernet Loopback test function for Port 4 and Port 5.
The Ethernet Loopback test can only be initiated in Factory Service mode by using either
the Front Panel or a Modbus client. The user can specify the number of iterations for the
test and the status of the test. Pass and fail counters are made available through the Front
Panel and a Modbus client only when Factory Service mode is enabled (under
Setpoints >
Device > Security). The test transmits an alternating pattern to ensure the data is always
changing and checks if it is properly received. The user must provide an external loop-back
connection for each port during the test.
