` Convert the units
In RPN mode, system flag 117 set to SOFT menus:
1 Enter 1 (no underline)
‚Û Select the UNITS menu
„« @)VISC Select the VISCOSITY option
@@@P@@ Select the unit P (poise)
‚Û Select the UNITS menu
)@TOOLS Select the TOOLS menu
@UBASE Select the UBASE function
Attaching units to numbers
To attach a unit object to a number, the number must be followed by an
underscore (‚Ý, key(8,5)). Thus, a force of 5 N will be entered as 5_N.
Here is the sequence of steps to enter this number in ALG mode, system flag
117 set to CHOOSE boxes:
5‚Ý Enter number and underscore
‚Û Access the UNITS menu
8@@OK@@ Select units of force (8. Force..)
@@OK@@ Select Newtons (N)
` Enter quantity with units in the stack
The screen will look like the following:
To enter this same quantity, with the calculator in RPN mode, use the following
keystrokes:
5 Enter number (do not enter underscore)
‚Û Access the UNITS menu
8@@OK@@ Select units of force (8. Force..)
@@OK@@ Select Newtons (N)
Note: If you forget the underscore, the result is the expression 5*N, where N
here represents a possible variable name and not Newtons.
