11.7 Removing the fork protector

Remove screws

and take off the clamp.
Remove screws

on the left fork leg. Take off the fork pro-
tector.
Remove screws

on the right fork leg. Take off the fork
protector.
11.8 Installing the fork protector
A00141-10
Position the fork protector on the right fork leg. Mount and
tighten screws

Guideline
Remaining screws,
chassis
M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
Position the fork protector on the left fork leg. Mount and
tighten screws

Position the brake line and clamp. Mount and tighten
screws

11.9 Removing the lower triple clamp
Preparatory work
Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 45)
Remove the front wheel. ( p. 84)
Remove the fork legs. ( p. 46)
Remove the start number plate. ( p. 52)
Remove front fender. ( p. 53)
Remove the handlebar cushion.

Main work
Pull fuel tank breather

out of the steering stem.
Loosen screw

. Remove nut

, pull off the upper triple
clamp with the handlebar in an upward direction, and hang it
to the side.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against dam-
age.
Do not kink the cables and lines.
