Features of your vehicle Theft-alarm system
may prevent the vehicle from being
started.
僅 The transponder in your EV button is
an important part of the immobilizer
system. It is designed to give years of
trouble-free service, however you
should avoid exposure to moisture,
static electricity and rough handling.

僅Do not change, alter or adjust the
immobilizer system because it could
cause the immobilizer system to mal

function. In this case, have the system
serviced by a professional workshop.

rized Kia dealer/service partner.
Malfunctions caused by improper
alterations, adjustments or modifica -
tions to the immobilizer system are
not covered by your vehicle manufac -
turer warranty.
僅 Do not attempt to alter this system or
add other devices to it. Electrical prob
-
lems could result that may make your
vehicle inoperable.
NOTICE
僅 When starting the vehicle, do not use
the key with other immobilizer keys
around. Otherwise the vehicle may
not start or may stop soon after it
starts. Keep each key separately in
order to avoid a starting malfunction.
僅 If you need additional keys or lose
your keys, Kia recommends visiting an
authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
Theft-alarm system
Do not attempt to alter this system or
add other devices to it.
Armed stage
Operation
僅 Lock the doors by pressing the lock
button on the key or door handle.
Operating condition(s)
僅 30 seconds after the doors are locked.
僅 Vehicle in OFF position or key
removed from the vehicle.
僅 All doors closed and locked.
Ultrasonic Intrusion Protection
(UIP) (if equipped)
Ultrasonic Intrusion Protection provides
an alert when movement is detected in
the passenger compartment after the
vehicle is locked.
Operation
僅 Select Settings → Vehicle → Conve -
nience → Advanced anti-theft in the
infotainment system screen.
Theft-alarm stage
Operation
僅 The horn will sound and the hazard
warning lights will blink continuously
for approximately 30 seconds. To turn
off the system, unlock the doors with
the smart key.
The system provides an
audible alarm and the haz
-
ard warning lights blink if
triggered. The system is
operated in 3 stages.
