Operation
僅 Tow the vehicle with a flatbed equip

ment with all wheels off the ground.
If emergency towing is necessary, we
recommend having it done by an autho

rized Kia dealer or a commercial tow-
truck service.
僅 Do not tow the vehicle forwards with
the rear wheels on the ground as this
may cause damage to the vehicle.
僅 Do not tow with sling-type equipment.
Use wheel lift or flatbed equipment.
僅 The 4WD vehicle should never be
towed with the wheels on the ground.
This can cause serious damage to the
vehicle or the 4WD system.

僅 Remove the hole cover by pressing
the lower part of the cover on the
bumper.
僅 Install the towing hook by screwing it
clockwise into the hole until it is fully
secured.
僅 After use, remove the towing hook
and reinstall the cover.
Towing in this manner may be done only
on hard-surfaced roads for a short dis
-
tance and at low speed. Also, the wheels,
axles, power train, steering and brakes
must all be in good condition.
僅 Do not use the tow hooks to pull a
vehicle out of mud, sand or other con
-
ditions from which the vehicle cannot
be driven out under its own power.
僅 Avoid towing a vehicle heavier than
the vehicle doing the towing.
僅 The drivers of both vehicles should
communicate with each other fre

quently.
