Owner's responsibility

fessional workshop. Kia recommends
visiting an authorized Kia dealer/ser

maintenance.
僅 Establish your compliance with the
servicing and maintenance require

ments of your vehicle warranties.
僅 Repairs and adjustments required as
a result of improper maintenance or
lack of required maintenance are not
covered even when your vehicle's
warranty has not yet expired.

Owner maintenance precautions
Improper or incomplete service may
result in problems. This section gives
instructions only for the maintenance
items that are easy to perform.
WARNING
僅 Performing maintenance work on a
vehicle can be dangerous. You can be
seriously injured while performing
some maintenance procedures. If you
lack sufficient knowledge and experi
-
ence or the proper tools and equip -
ment to do the work, have the system
serviced by a professional workshop.

僅 Working under the hood with the
vehicle running is dangerous. It
becomes even more dangerous when
you wear jewelry or loose clothing.
These can become entangled in mov -
ing parts and result in injury. There -
fore, if you must run the vehicle while
working under the hood, make certain
that you remove all jewelry (especially
rings, bracelets, watches, and neck
-
laces) and all neckties, scarves, and
similar loose clothing before getting
near the vehicle or cooling fans.
CAUTION
僅 Before touching the battery and elec -
trical wiring, you should disconnect
the battery (-) terminal. You may get
an electric shock from the electric cur
-
rent.
僅 When you remove the interior trim
cover with a flat-blade screwdriver, be
careful not to damage the cover.
僅 Be careful when you replace and
clean bulbs to avoid burns or electri
-
cal shock.
