Engine failure Unfiltered intake air has a negative effect on the service life of the
engine.
– Never ride the vehicle without an air filter since dust and dirt can get into the
engine and result in increased wear.
– Remove air filter .
9.17Installing the air filter x

– Clean the air filter box.
– Mount air filter .
Info
The air filter must lie flush against the air filter box along the entire sealing
surface.
– Hook air filter box lid  into the front of the air filter box and swing down.

– Mount and tighten screws .
Guideline
Screw, air filter box top M6 2 Nm (1.5 lbf ft)
– Mount the seat. ( p. 44)
9.18Removing the main silencer
Warning
Danger of burns The exhaust system gets very hot when the vehicle is driven.
– Allow the exhaust system to cool down. Do not touch hot components.

– Detach springs .
– Remove screw  and take off the main silencer.
9.19Installing the main silencer

– Mount the main silencer. Mount and tighten screw .
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
– Attach springs .
