5.9 Bandwidth
5.9.1 Description
The purpose of this test is to ensure that the entire system has a bandwidth of at
least 500 MHz for a WaveSurfer 45x, 350 MHz for a WaveSurfer 43x and 200 MHz
for a WaveSurfer 42x. An external source is used as the reference to provide a
signal where amplitude and frequency are well controlled.
The amplitude of the generator and cable as a function of frequency and power is
calibrated using a HP8482A power sensor, and HP437B power meter or
equivalent. Note: If a leveled generator is used then the corrections needed by
using the power meter may not be necessary.
