6. Apply Loctite™ 242® to the set screw threads and
torque the two bearing set screws to specification.
TORQUE
Prop Shaft Bearing Set Screws:
35 in-lbs (4 Nm)
7. Align the front and rear portions of the prop shaft as
shown below and slide them together.
8. Install the upper and lower halves of the bearing
support along with the two fasteners. Torque the
support bearing fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
Prop Shaft Support Bearing Fasteners:
36 ft-lbs (49 Nm)
9. Grease the prop shaft yoke(s).
10. Reinstall the large storage container and front seat
base.
DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION
Always wear eye protection.
1. Remove internal snap ring
q
from all four bearing
caps.
NOTICE
If yoke or bearing is removed, cross bearing must be
replaced. Note orientation of grease fitting and mark
inner and outer yoke for correct re-positioning during
installation.
2. Support inner yoke as shown and drive outer yoke
down (bearing cap out) with a suitable press.
