h. ADJUST—C871 and C881 (see Fig. 5-12) for best
timing and linearity excluding the first and last two
divisions of the magnified sweep.
Calibration—434
i. Set the TIM E /D IV switch to 1 ps and the MAG switch
to .02 /Us. Set the V O LTS/D IV switch to 2 m V /D IV.
j. CHECK—CRT display for tw o cycles per division (one
cycle per division if using a 20 nanosecond sine wave) w ith
in 0.4 division (0.5 division if this measurement is being
made outside of the + 2 0 'C to +30°C temperature range).
Exclude the first and last ten divisions of magnified sweep.
k. ADJUST— C871 and C881 (see Fig. 5-12) as neces
sary for the best compromise of tim ing and linearity
between 1 ps with 50X magnification and .2 ps w ith 10X
magnification.
40. Check TIM E/D IV Accuracy
a. CHECK—A pply the appropriate time marks and
check each position of the T IM E /D IV switch for proper
timing (unmagnified) over the first ten divisions of sweep
w ithin 0.3 division (0.4 division if this measurement is
being made outside of the +20°C to +30SC temperature
range).
41. Check Magnified Sweep Accuracy
a. Set the T IM E /D IV switch to 1 ms.
b. CHECK—A pply the appropriate time marks and
check magnified timing at .5 ms, .2 ms, .1 ms, 50 ps, and 20
ps w ith in 0.4 division (0.5 division if this measurement is
being made outside of the +20°C to +30°C temperature
range).
c. Set the T IM E /D IV switch to .5 ms.
d. CHECK—A pply the appropriate time marks and
check magnified timing at .2 ms and 20 ps w ithin 0.4 divi
sion (0.5 division if this measurement is being made outside
of the +20°C to +30°C temperature range).
e. Set the TIM E/D IV switch to .2 ms.
f, CHECK—A pply the appropriate tim e marks and
check magnified timing at 50 ps and 5 ps w ith in 0.4 divi
sion (0.5 division if this measurement is being made outside
of the +20° C to +30°C temperature range).
42. Check High Speed Magnified Timing Accuracy
a. CHECK—Timing accuracy of T IM E/D IV and MAG
switch combinations given in Table 5-6 w ithin 0.4 division
(0.5 division if this measurement is being made outside of
the +20° C to +30° C temperature range).
