Working alongside trenches
NOTICE
Possible piston rod damage. To avoid damage to the boom cylinder, do not
raise the stabilizer blade with the boom lift cylinder in the retracted position
shown in Fig. 60.
• Always use stabilizer blade B for stabilization during excavation work
• Make sure stabilizer blade B never touches piston rod A (Fig. 109).
• Avoid maximum depth trench excavation from the stabilizer end of the
machine. (Fig. 110).
Stabilizer blade at rear
Warning!
Personal injury hazard. Improperly operating the machine with the stabilizer
blade B at the rear when working alongside trenches, slopes, etc. can cause
the machine to tip or fall.
• Use work position (Fig. 110) only in an extreme emergency since the
machine can tilt forward into the trench.
• We recommend using work position (Fig. 109) described above for opti-
mum machine stability. However, make sure piston rod A does not touch
stabilizer blade B under any circumstances.
